III   Al-Badal, The Substitute

RULE NO.44

The duration of the stretch should be by two harakah if a hamzah appears before a letter of madd. This madd is called al-Badal.

Example Analysis:

Example No. 823, Imana: In this word, Ya'  is one of the letters of madd because it is preceded by Hamzah maksur. It should be stretched by two harakah.
