II (a) i 2   Harafi Muthaqqal, One Letter Assimilated

RULE NO.41

The duration of the stretch should be six harakat if an assimilated letter includes a letter of madd and after it an invariable sukun appears. This madd is called Harafi Mutha-qqal.

Example Analysis:

Example No. 809, Alif Lam Mim. Allahu La ilaha illa Huwal Hayyul Qayyum. In the word Alif Lam Mim, Mim is an assimilated letter. The letter Mim includes a madd and after it an invariable sukun appears. This madd should be stretched by six harakat.
